Taking out the window from its frame is the finest technique to fix leaded glass part. When one window is removed, one must check the frame on to plywood or cardboard for start working as it will show a pattern to proceed.

One must start removing the broken parts. After loosening the solder plus lead from the window glass, clear tape need to be placed over the broken portions. This will serve two purposes. One, it will create a pattern to work with a new glass, or number two – this will make it considerably easier for removing the damaged pieces, when doing the windows glass repair.

He must pin down the template panel made earlier. It will keep templates in position, and will help to have the pattern for a window. Using a window repair glass hammer he must gently tap the window glass in its place, and nail the outside lead in position, safeguarding the glass. Then he needs to cut a zinc piece for matching the panel and then nail it in its place.

Now he should use the wielding gun for starting the soldering of joints at the bottom portion of the window panel. For avoiding melting of the frame, one must use just sufficient heat to weld the pieces and continue wielding until all the wielding lines are completely done.

With the piece which is being fixed, one needs to start adding them all back to their original window frame position. A gentle work of placing the glass part back into the window frame is required, in addition to the use of a silicone based seal all around the window frame. This procedure will facilitate securing new parts of the glass in position. A gentle tap can be done on the frame with hammer for creating a close-fitting bond.
